Clean conduct
In the book of Genesis, a vivid picture of the darker side of human nature is revealed. From the Fall in Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve fell to temptation in the Garden of Eden, the Spread of Evil in Genesis 4 with Cain’s murder of his brother Abel, to the widespread corruption in Genesis 6:5 (NIV) “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was evil all the time.” resulting in the Flood. Genesis 8:21 (ESV) declares “…the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth.”
To combat the nature of the human heart, we must do the work to clean up our conduct. Practicing the way of Christ requires making a commitment to monitor our thoughts and language. Then, our conduct will fall into alignment and allow us to interact with others in a kind, productive manner.
As this series comes to a close, consider how clean your thoughts, language, and conduct are and if working with a life coach could help you navigate clean living with more ease.
