healthy habits - the body

I Corinthians 6:19 (ESV) “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.

In this passage, the Apostle Paul shared wisdom highlighting a reverent approach for establishing and maintaining healthy habits for the body. A modern interpretation of the Apostle Paul’s insistence on respectful and intentional living would include prioritizing nourishment, rest/recovery, movement, boundaries and self-worth.

James Clear, author of “Atomic Habits”, shared an idea in a podcast with Mel Robbins that resonated with me. “Time will magnify whatever you feed it.” This “feeding”may be literal or figurative. When we ignore any of these aspects of life, we are not living our best life. He also shared the concept of “lagging measure” noting that “Things we have now are a result of the things we have been doing the last six months to a year.” What are you intentionally focusing on to make your body a temple in which the Holy Spirit can work effectively?

Consider the body image you project as you navigate this thing we call life. Do others see positive energy and the “light of God” in you? If not, establish healthy habits to clean your “temple” today.
