Wake Up

Ephesians 5:15 (ESV) “…Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

We are spiritual beings having a human experience. God intends for us to “arise” from the human “dead” daily existence and to wake up our “spirit” to become fully developed Christ followers. When we are the most developed humans possible, we are free to not only have the light of Christ shining on us, but shining “through” us in our thoughts, language, and overall conduct.

Romans 12:2 (NIV) “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

A deliberate practice to wake up your spiritual side is essential. Waking up with prayer will help you develop a personal relationship with God. When we mindfully engage with the Holy Spirit, God will renew our mind outlining a clear vision of our purpose in this world.

Revelation 1:8 (ESV) “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

God is timeless and unchanging. Commonly understood truths which will last through the end of time are often lost in the human experience. It is time to wake up our spirit and be the light!

Prayer: Wake up my spirit, O God! I want to know You! May the Holy Spirit be present with me each day to guide and monitor my thoughts, to keep me centered throughout the day, and to guide my behavior toward all people and all things.
